JBL 118H 10″ Woofer Butyl RUBBER Surround Kit
Rubber surrounds will greatly reduce cone break up and ensure low distortion. This kit will fit the JBL 118H woofer used in L56 Speaker Cabinets. Most others selling these kits use foam surrounds, which is NOT rubber like the originals. These surrounds have an angled attachment to cone.
This Repair Kit includes all the materials needed to repair two (2) woofers:
– Repair Instructions
– 2 Rubber Surrounds
– Shims for centering the 1.5″ voice coils
– Two 2.75″ Felt Dust Caps
– 1 Bottle of Specially Formulated Surround Adhesive (strong and sticky)
*It can be difficult to replace the surround on a speaker without removing the dust cap and inserting the plastic shims. The plastic shims are used to center the voice coil and cone assembly while the speaker is being repaired. If you do not use the plastic shims, the voice coil may be off center and it may lead to the voice coil rubbing. Also, be careful when cutting off the old dust cap, so you do not cut through the cone.
A – Outside diameter of the surround = 9.7″
B – Roll ends = 9″
C – Roll starts / O.D. of the cone = 7.75″
D – Inside diameter of the surround = 7.25″
